Airbnb, the popular San Francisco-based tech company, has found itself in a legal battle with New York City over the city’s restrictions on short-term housing rentals. The company filed a lawsuit on Thursday, challenging the Short-Term Rental Registration Law, a local ordinance passed in 2022 and set to be enforced soon. This law requires short-term rental hosts in the city to register with the mayor’s office, disclose information about other residents on the property, and comply with other city codes.
