EasyJet Cancels Hundreds of Flights Amidst Upcoming Strike by Cabin Crew Union

EasyJet, one of Europe’s leading low-cost airlines, has found itself in the midst of a labor dispute as the National Union of Civil Aviation Flight Personnel (SNPVAC) announces strike action for the end of May and the beginning of June. The SNPVAC, in a statement, expressed their intention to strike on the 26th, 28th, and 30th of May, as well as the 1st and 3rd of June, specifically targeting easyJet’s cabin crew. The union claims that easyJet’s Portuguese crew members are being treated as “minor workers” and accuses the airline of perpetuating precariousness and discrimination compared to their counterparts from other countries.
